![]() Hi, How can I decrypt / unencrypt dnn user account passwords? I need to sent the dnn username, role and password to an outside app to authenticate the user credentials. What is the easiest way to do this. Email not working, password recovery, and email notifications on DotNetNuke (DNN) For anyone else who runs into this I recently overlooked some email settings for a DotNetNuke (DNN) installation I was setting up. Hopefully someone else can benefit from my mistake. I already knew (and it's key to the issue)that Crystaltech mail servers won’t send email without a valid FROM address active on the particular domain. But I overlooked setting the ADMIN and HOST DNN accounts with valid email addresses on the DNN domain. Special thanks to Marcos in CTech tech support for pointing me in the right direction. Here’s what happened: DNN installation setup on Crystaltech shared server. (mydnndomain.com for example) Problem: When a DNN user tried to use the password recovery function, they never received the email if their email address was outside of mydnndomain. Leon the professional 1080p download video. com. Also, when logged into DNN as the ADMIN account, the email notifications for role changes to DNN users were not being sent either. My SMTP settings were correct all along. The Crystaltech mail server was not sending email outside the domain, because DNN was not sending FROM a valid email account on that domain (mydnndomain.com). I setup separate email addresses for the ADMIN and HOST accounts. I then retried the password recovery function for a test user, and DNN was now able to send the password recovery email to a user with an email address outside of mydnndomain.com. To be sure, I had set the test user to have a () email account. Apparently, DotNetNuke uses the ADMIN account to send password recovery emails, and role change notifications to users. Because I didn’t have a valid email address setup in the ADMIN user account profile, the Crystaltech mail server didn’t have a valid FROM address, and therefore refused to send any emails outside of the domain. Again, the email address for the ADMIN account must be on the same domain as the DNN installation so that the Crystaltech servers will not reject the email sent outside the DNN domain. Here are my settings DotNetNuke DNN installation on a Crystaltech shared server. Domain: mydnndomain.com (for example only) Configure DNN SMTP Login as HOST account.
